rayburn renovations

now, remember, this is how we (finally) got it out of the van.

firstly, remove any slates from the floor, then dig a hole.  make up some 'shuttering' for a plinth

pour concrete into the shuttering and the hole to make a firm base

remove the top of the rayburn and remove all the fire bricks - replace any broken bricks. remove all the fire wool and rope, remove the back boiler and replace with fire bricks

errr - re-build and simply pick up the rayburn and put on the plinth

.oO( *man* that sounds easy when it's put like that

why, then, does my back hurt so much ..!!)

oh yes, and design and install the flue ..!!

winter 2002 - still awaiting worktops and foot boards - note the 'barbie' oven as backup and for summer use.
